  • 4 hamburger buns

  • 4 slices cheddar or American cheese (optional)

  • Lettuce leaves

  • Tomato slices

  • Onion slices (raw or grilled)

  • Pickles

1️⃣ Prepare the patties

  1. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions.

  2. Gently shape into patties about ¾ inch thick.

  3. Press a small thumb indent in the center of each patty (prevents puffing).

2️⃣ Cook the burgers

You can grill or pan-fry.

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat.

  2. Grill patties for 3–4 minutes per side for medium doneness.

  3. Add cheese during the last minute and close the lid to melt.

  2. Cook patties 3–4 minutes per side.

  3. Add cheese in the last minute and cover the pan.


3️⃣ Toast the buns

  • Lightly butter buns (optional)

  • Toast on grill or pan until golden


4️⃣ Assemble the burger

Bottom bun → sauce → lettuce → patty → cheese → tomato → onion → pickles → sauce → top bun

  • Don’t press down on the patty while cooking ❌
